The Science of Sugaring
Scientists think that sugaring was invented around Persia in the first millennium AD. Because of its location of origin, they think that the first sugaring paste was probably honey.
Over time, a lot of different ingredients have been tried in sugaring paste, but lemon is usually added to make the paste smooth and non-crystalline.
Why is Sugaring Best?
To start with, sugaring paste can be effectively be used when it is just warm, whereas wax needs to be in the range of 125–160 °F. Sugaring is also less-likely to irritate the skin than waxing because there are no unnecessary chemical additives. Further, sugaring paste doesn’t stick to the skin like wax does. And finally, since sugaring paste is all-natural honey, clean up of the skin after the sugaring process is a breeze.
